A Bamana equestrian figure of the Dioila region, with a male and female figure, based on a rectangular, rounded base, partly fragmentary, in front an unproportional large male figure, looking forwards, holding a lance in it´s right hand, the female figure of the same size at the back. the head turned sidewards, the angled arms touching the hips of the male figure, prominent, large breasts, the coiffure in the typical style of the Dioila area; brownish, aged patina, signs of age and use, restored and partly fixed by iron-brackets.

Equestrian figures of this shape, size and age with a male and female rider are rare.It is the first time since 8 years we collected such a sculpture
