A Bamana Equestrian sculpture, a Bobo related figure seated on an elongated galloping horse of high abstract, stylized form, a small horseman is holding the tightened strings; encrusted sacrification patina. These sculptures were used for protecting the owner against the risks of travelling. Before starting a tour a sacrification was made against the evil and the danger of each voyage. These figures are unknown in the Bamana or Bobo literature. Probably both ethnic groups have used the same or very similar sculptures, which are probably coming from the region of San.
